My favorite subject is Math, but people rarely believe that there is a student who actually loves Math. This is a quite easy subject at primary level, but I have to admit that it gets harder and harder through time. I had a struggling period with it before I could find the motivation and interest to study. I find it is not only useful, but it is like puzzles that I can find the joy once I solve them. Some students say that they cannot find any use of quadratic equation or complicated formulas in reality, but Math actually appears in many aspects in our life. It helps calculate and bring out the exact results, and we cannot construct anything without calculate the figures, or the amount of materials or the whole are. Besides, it also an useful assistant for some other subjects such as Physics and Chemical, and it helps us develop our logical thought. We can think faster and have better reaction with numbers thanks to Math. Whenever I go to the markets with my mom, I always help her to check whether the sellers take the right or wrong amount of money as well as the change. I meet it both in school and in my real life, so there is no wonder why I find it really necessary. In conclusion, I think Math is not just simply a subject that challenges the students, but it can actually help us in our daily life. I am so lucky to find this subject enjoyable, and I will always find joy in studying it.

Đây là một môn học tương đối dễ ở bậc tiểu học, nhưng tôi phải thừa nhận rằng nó càng lúc càng khó dần lên theo thời gian. Tôi đã có một thời kì chật vật với nó trước khi tôi có thể tìm được động lực và hứng thú để học. Tôi thấy nó không những hữu ích, mà nó còn giống như những câu đố mà tôi cảm thấy vui vẻ mỗi khi tôi giải được chúng. Một vài học sinh nói rằng họ không thể tìm được bất kì ứng dụng nào của phương trình bậc hai hoặc những công thức phức tạp trong đời sống, nhưng thực chất Toán ảnh hưởng đến rất nhiều khía cạnh trong cuộc sống chúng ta. Nó giúp chúng ta tính toán và cho ra những kết quả chính xác, và chúng ta không thể xây dựng bất kì thứ gì mà không tính toán những dữ liệu như số lượng nguyên vật liệu hoặc tổng diện tích. Bên cạnh đó, nó cũng là một trợ thủ đắc lực cho những môn học khác như Vật lý hoặc Hóa học, và nó giúp chúng ta phát triển khả năng tư duy logic. Chúng ta có thể suy nghĩ nhanh hơn và có phản ứng tốt hơn với những con số nhờ vào Toán. Bất cứ khi nào tôi đi chợ cùng với mẹ, tôi luôn giúp mẹ tôi kiểm tra tiền thừa hoặc xem liệu người bán có lấy đúng số tiền không. Tôi học Toán cả trong trường học và cuộc sống, vậy nên không có gì thắc mắc khi tôi thấy nó thật sự cần thiết. That is also a way for me to prepare for my next class and review for the old ones. I gain a lot of vocabulary by doing that, so I usually have many different ways to express and describe a thing. In writing classes, I am one of the students who turn in the most pages since I have many ideas thanks to reading. Each author has his or her own way to write about the same subject, and their words are very good to use. People usually give me compliments on the way I talk and choose the words, and it is one of the advantages of studying Literature. In the future, I want to be a Literature teacher so that I can continue to learn and research more about the pieces of art from all over the world. I love words, ideas and expression, so I will always consider it as my favorite subject of all time.

My favorite subject is the one that most students consider as boring, and it is History. A lot of my classmates even hate it since they have to remember a huge amount of information of people that they do not know. The textbooks are usually very thick, and they consist of events and people from a hundred or thousands of years from East to West. For me, those things are like the stories in the novels, but the difference is my textbooks are about true things. They tell me about the epic battles, the majestic kings and queens and their empires, the true meanings behind countless revolutions, the steps of humankind and many more. I feel like I am living the past just by reading books, and the textbooks are never enough for me. I love to collect historical books, and I always need to know a complete story about a certain event. For example, if I have a lesson about the discovery of America tomorrow, I will search online for more details that relating to it. It makes my teachers surprise sometimes, and most of them admit that it is very rare to meet a student who actually love and want to study History. People love to read fantasy books, but I choose to read about true events and characters. My friends learn the lessons by heart because they are forced to do that, but I remember them like my favorite stories. I want to be an archaeologist in the future, and my love for the past as well as History will company with me in that path.

Sách giáo khoa thường rất dày, và chúng chứa những sự kiện và con người đến từ Đông sang Tây và từ hàng trăm hoặc hàng ngàn năm về trước. Đối với tôi, những thứ đó giống như những câu truyện trong tiểu thuyết, nhưng chúng chỉ khác nhau ở chỗ là sách giáo khoa thì về những chuyện có thật. Every day I have to study many different subjects at school, but my favorite one is English. I have been studying it since secondary school, and it still has been the subject that I spent most of my time for until now. At first I found it very difficult to remember the new vocabulary as well as grammars; however, I was lucky enough to have a teacher that gave me the way and the passion to study it properly. Instead of learning the words by repeating them, I try to use them frequently in certain sentences which relating to circumstances around me. Besides, I try to write my diary and other small stories in English so that I can learn to use the grammars. English is one of the main subjects at school, and many people have to study it to get a better job. Other subjects are what I need to learn, but English is the one that I can find joy in studying. It appears in many aspects of my life such as music, movies, books, or news. I can easily listen and get well to the American accent whenever I turn on the TV, and for me it is the easiest way to study. I know most of my classmates think that they will not meet Math, History, Chemistry or Physics once they graduate from high school. However, English is the one that will follow us forever, especially when we are reaching out to the world. I am so grateful that English is my favorite subject, and I will never lose the joy in studying it.

Tôi biết hầu hết bạn học của tôi nghĩ rằng họ sẽ không bao giờ gặp lại Toán, Lịch sử, Vật lý hay Hóa học một khi học đã tốt nghiệp cấp 3. It was such an amazing method of communication when I travelled in Japan, French or Korea without knowing the local languages. If you want to be at the forefront in your professional field, nothing is better than reading the different articles. Whilst, most of them are written in English. In conclusion, I think that there are many reasons to learn English because of it’s benefits. If you really fall in love with English, you will never want to give up it for any reasons.

English is my cup of tea. I knew about this subject when I was 10 years old. It is the most common language in the world and is used in every area of life. Thus, I sought for information about this subject at the Library and often practiced speaking with friends to improve it. Next, I changed the display language in my devices to English to get in the habit of seeing it more often. Moreover, in my free time, I enjoy reading English news. Now, I feel learning English is not as difficult, as long as I am passionate about it and have clear goals. English helps me get good grades in school. I can confidently speak English to people from many different countries. I hope I have a scholarship at a university in my hometown and I have a strong belief in it. Because, my English ability is better than some friends.

My favorite subject in school is Mathematics. It is my favorite because I never have difficulty with it and always get good marks in tests. I suppose I am lucky to be born with a clear-thinking brain. So ever since young, manipulating numbers and figures came easy to me. The wonderful thing about Mathematics is that, besides some formulae, there is nothing else to remember. Every step in solving a problem is done logically. Other subjects like History and Geography require a lot of memory work. Remembering dates and other facts is hard work compared with the ease and simplicity of mathematical reasoning. While Mathematics is simple to me, some of my friends have great difficulty with it. I do not really understand why. They get stuck with simple problems and often give up. So I help them out when I can. The one advantage I have in being good in Mathematics is that I do not have to spend a lot of time on it. Homework and tests are a breeze. So I have plenty of time left over to study other subjects. Sometimes I feel sorry for my less fortunate classmates who get scolded in class for not completing their Mathematics homework. Anyhow I have come to realize that human beings can be so different in their abilities while they look similar otherwise. Some of us are lucky to be good in some things. Others may not be so lucky.

Of all the subjects taught in school, I like Geography best. It is the only subject which teaches me everything I need to know about the world we live in, for example, vegetation, way of life of people, climate, agriculture and economy. I learn about the countries around Malaysia and in other parts of the world and, since I cannot visit and see for myself every country in the world, I get at least a good picture of these countries by studying Geography. I am very interested in finding out more about other countries especially those that experience snow when winter comes. I often wonder about the life of the people in these countries. What would it be like to be dressed in thick clothes and boots and living in snow-covered houses amidst fir trees? Then, there are the hot desert lands that stretch for miles and miles without a tree in sight. They, too, fascinate me. I marvel at the inhabitants who are able to tolerate the intense heat of the burning sun, traveling along miles of barren, hot land on camels where the only vegetation found would be the few palm trees growing at an oasis. The wide range of food which we enjoy daily such as butter, cheese, fruits, bread that comes from wheat and many others lead me on to find out how they are processed and imported into Malaysia and finally make their appearance in our homes. As I study more in Geography, I understand better the changes in weather conditions, for example, why there are hot and dry seasons or cool rainy days during the monsoon season and how deserts are caused.

When I was in High school, my favorite subject was the Korean Literature. Most friends of mine used to fall asleep in the class because they felt the subject was boring and old-fashioned. However, my eyes were widened and I felt excited as the Literature class has started. I thought the subject was leading me to the new world that I had never experienced before in my life. Through the reading of variety genre of the Literature, I could feel my ancestor's life and culture in the specific era. Especially in old poem, I noticed their values such as loyalty to the nation, religious attitudes influenced by shamanism, Buddhism and Confucianism. Moreover, people started to write an essay which is more narrative and descriptive based on their usual life. Through the reading, I could feel their sorrow, happiness and depicted love of nature and man. For me, it was fascinated to find out someone's feeling through out the short piece of the Literature. As well as reading and analyzing others' masterpieces, my teacher, Mrs. Lee asked us to create some of the writing based on the characters of the Literature that we learned in the class. Sometime, I pretended to be a soldier who was filled with loyalty towards the Kingdom and described my emotions in the short poem. In addition, she made us to write a love letter to the main characters in the Literature. At the first time, students including me complained to the teacher because we were not familiar with the work. However, through the writing processing, I learned and practiced how to imagine other people's status and emotions. Reading and writing process in the Korean Literature subject was one of my communication way to the world and history. I could access to various styles of Literature in different ages from old times to the modern ages. It always refreshed my thoughts and feelings during the school years.
